Gluten Free FAQ's

FAQ's

To help you get the most out of our website and online shopping, here are some answers to frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

I see you have oats marked as gluten free on your website.

Most coeliacs and wheat intolerant people can eat oats with no ill-effects. However they must be pure oats as many are contaminated by wheat and barley in the milling process. Both Spoff and Tilquhillie oats are uncontaminated and are listed in the appendix of the Gluten Free Food and Drink guide from Coeliac UK.
For more information please see the Coeliac UK website.

Can you send me some free samples of your products?

As we are a wholesaler and not a manufacturer we do not send out free samples. We have over 400 products on our website so it is not practical. If you are recently diagnosed please contact the manufacturers directly and they may be able to help you. We attend lots of food fairs and meetings where you can taste products so check out our news and events page for more information about these.

I only want to order one item but £6.80 seems a lot to pay for delivery.

Providing the item is not frozen then we can send it in the post and save you money. Please call us on 0800 688 8969 and we can take payment over the phone. If the products you want to order weigh more than 2kg it is cheaper to send them by courier.

Why are your delivery charges so expensive?

We do not make any profit on delivery charges. But compare £6.80 (UK mainland delivery cost) with the time taken and the price of driving to several different shops to get everything you need especially if you live in a rural area. If you order from us regularly you will receive promotion codes to have your order delivered for free (orders over £75 for UK mainland only). Please feel free to contact us for more information.

Are your products available on prescription?

Some of the products we sell are available on prescription to those who have a medical diagnosis of Coeliac disease. To get products on prescription you will need to consult your GP.

I live abroad and want to place an order but my country is not on your list.

We can deliver to other countries than those listed on our website. Please send us details of the products you wish to order and we will give you a price. Please note: due to some countries’ restrictions regarding the import of food it may not be possible to send an order to you.

I am at work during the week can you deliver at the weekend?

Our couriers do deliver on a Saturday morning but they have a surcharge for this. Other alternatives would be to have your order delivered to your work address or if this is not possible it can be delivered to a neighbour or left in a safe place.
